In this article I discuss the relationship between fashion style and popular culture. I am the Co-editor of an award-winning encyclopedia of popular culture and a co-author of a book on Madonna’s style. I am particularly interested in how popular culture shapes fashion and how we see the world.

Journal of fashion style and popular culture

The Journal of Fashion, Style and Popular Culture (FSC) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal, published by Intellect Books, dedicated to the study of fashion and its interaction with popular culture. Submissions to the journal are accepted on a rolling basis. Its h-index is four, which indicates the journal’s productivity and citation impact.

The journal primarily publishes original research and scholarly studies on popular culture. Manuscripts that are based on ongoing research or pilot studies will be rejected. However, manuscripts that are based on research that has been completed are encouraged to be submitted to the journal. Submitted manuscripts must not have been published elsewhere while they are under review.
